Youth Assembly

Implementation: 2017 to 2019

Grant: Neighborhoods and Priority Intervention Zones

Keywords: Youth Activism; Political Participation; Civic Participation; Citizens Engagement.

Objective: Promote the active participation of young people at the civic and political level within their communities, allowing young people to get closer to the representative system, encourages discussion of issues that directly influence their lives, and promotes dialogue between young people, school, and municipal bodies. In addition they also gain some relevant skills for everyday life, bringing change to their surrounding context, and equipping them with positive mechanisms for their personal and professional future. As a methodology that stimulates peer interaction, it also promotes inclusion and cooperation in order to combat social exclusion and marginalization. The project includes the election of youth representatives, responsible for representing them before local and municipal institutions. To enable them to do so, we have developed a set of training programs that will allow them to discuss the most important issues in their neighborhood objectively and effectively.
